Unlimited Imagination

Every person has fantasies, ideas that will probably never become reality. They may be about winning millions of dollars, or a business idea that rocks the world, or a beautiful voice that stuns millions etc. There is nothing wrong with fantasies, they are a natural part of the richness of the human imagination.

Fantasies drive you on to your successes… and failures. They give you a purpose, a mountain to climb, a reason for being. Fantasies keep you alive because they are always leading you into a new tomorrow.

Imagination and fantasy are very close. Generally fantasies tend to be completely unlikely, whereas imagination has practical possibilities. Maybe fantasies are imaginative ideas that do not consider physical limitations. I might fantasize being a Prince on Planet Pompom, whereas I could imagine my art being sought by thousands and the price shooting through the roof…. Stop! Idiot get back on track!

So we all dream our little scenarios, that’s the way it goes. We allow ourselves mental indulgences. Unfortunately, if you dare share these intimate dreams, there’s a good chance you will be mocked. We are tolerant to our own crazy ideas, but very intolerant to other people’s madness.

It’s okay for me to be imaginative but I get wary when someone else shares their thoughts. What’s wrong with me? Surely every single being has a right to ideas? Expressing an idea is not necessarily an intention to bring it into reality.

Give other people space to be crazy. Allow and even encourage others to be imaginative and to express their unique thoughts. This world is ruled by boring corporations, manipulated by grey governments and pushed around by bland religious zealots. Let your mind run free, the world desperately needs new colour.
