Avoid conventional, it is dead.
Being unconventional can be a lot of fun, once you get used to the idea that creative people are not ‘normal people’. Avoid conventional, it is dead.

Sure it is safe, but it has no life, no spontaneity and no creativity about it.

Corporations and governments are conventional. They are steady, greedy, logical and usually run by people with no imagination and very little capacity for creating something new. They are slow to change and are bogged down with regulations. If the government or a corporation endorses an idea – you can bet that it is not creative.

Television, newspapers, radio and even movies are mostly corporate owned and they all have one single purpose – make money! That’s it! Everything else is incidental. If they happen to entertain or give you a product, then that is what it costs them, not what they are there for.Colin Perini – Creative artist
They are not interested in giving you anything for nothing. They want your money. They use sneaky techniques to scam you into buying their products and services but their stories are boring, safely conventional and often, not even true.

If you want to be creative, then you have to stop being normal. Instead of being careful to please others, please yourself. Instead of always being a good girl or boy, try being naughty every now and then. Instead of believing the stories that the media hurl at you, try having no idea for a while!
Colin Perini – Creative artist
Stop being sensible and start being creative!

The problem with most unconventional people is that they belong to a group that acts in the same supposedly unconventional way. The media also controls this notion. Truly unconventional people appear quite odd and alien and are rarely seen as cool and acceptable.
Yeah—so? Who wants to be cool and acceptable?
Amazing post thanks!
